EVENT OVERVIEW

In nature the deepest root of a tree is the “radicle” or taproot. When it comes to human nature, each soul has its own radical roots that connect us to deep inner resources. The taproots of the soul involve surprising capacities for resiliency as well as deep wellsprings of creativity.

Qualities like courage and compassion, wisdom and creative vision tend to manifest more fully when something challenges us at an existential level. Human resiliency involves a capacity to awaken further and grow wiser precisely in the midst of a crisis.

More than the ability to withstand adversity, true resiliency involves a creative vulnerability that allows us to both “spring back” and “leap forward.” To avoid overwhelm and find meaningful ways forward, we need to tap the resources of our souls which connect to the timeless roots of imagination and the endless energies of creation.

In times of radical change and great uncertainty, the practice of resiliency can help us live our soul’s original purpose and find the ways we can best contribute to the healing and renewal of the world.

EVENING EVENT

FRIDAY, APRIL 5 :: 5 - 7 PM

Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

1750 13th Street, Boulder, CO

In connection with the "Dazzle of Darkness" international art exhibition, Michael Meade will view the dark times in which we live through the revelatory lenses of psychology and mythology. The soul is the light hidden in darkness, the spark of imagination and the source of renewal in the heart of each person.  At each critical turn in life our soul tries to awaken and the light hidden within reveals our natural way of being and our original way of seeing.

INTERACTIVE Q&A

Multiple opportunities to ask Michael questions and share reflections

Because our greatest gifts and deepest wounds reside in the same area; because the resurrection of old pains can be so fearful and painful, people need to be reminded in diverse ways that the inner dream of life, the wise word set within and the psychic gold are the natural inheritance of each human soul. Because it is so easy to forget what we so desperately need to remember; old stories talk of golden treasures and great dreams that call us to undertake adventures and pilgrimages that in the end reveal what was within us all along.
