As the world becomes a more chaotic and conflicted place, turning to creative practices can help us find ways to settle and center and grow a greater sense of self and soul. Throughout the ages, meaningful practices have served as healing roads and primary ways to find psychological and spiritual growth as well as moments of wholeness and inner unity.
Through a meaningful practice we can gain an emotional seating, an inner refuge to continually return to as well as creative ways to express our true selves. For, the soul’s aim has always been to practice becoming who we are at our core.
The two traditional roads of practice appear as the inward path of contemplation, meditation and deep reflection and the expressive path of creative arts, such as music and dance, painting and writing. Both primary pathways can help us become truly resilient and more able to “spring back” no matter what befalls us.
Whether through creative arts, contemplative practices or a combination of both, we need ways to keep opening our hearts and finding inner coherence. A heartfelt practice can transform us and can also help change the world.
